Aurora is an Italian author and illustrator born in Carbonia, Sardinia. She has lived in several cities, including Milan, Bologna, Edinburgh, and Cambridge, where she graduated from the MA in Children’s Book Illustration at the Cambridge School of Art. She has worked with publishers such as Chronicle Books, Nathan, Grasset, Tate, and Rizzoli. Her work has received international recognition, including commendations from the Macmillan Prize, an AOI Awards shortlist, and a Merit at the 3×3 Illustra

WORK/ PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This self-promotional calendar explores the visual and narrative potential of numbers, treating them not only as symbols of time but as shapes that can transform into elements of an illustrated world. Each month presents a small visual story in which numbers become objects, architecture, or landscapes that characters interact with naturally. The calendar unfolds as a sequence of narrative scenes that invite observation and imagination. Created as a personal project and sent to selected clients, it reflects my interest in visual storytelling, character-driven scenes, and the balance between graphic clarity and poetic detail. The illustrations were created in Procreate, allowing the shapes of numbers to inspire each scene.
