WORK/ PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Folded Rowing Hub is a lakeside sports and recreational facility for a university rowing program. Six pitched-roof volumes form a continuous sequence around two courtyards, organizing circulation and gathering while connecting directly to the waterfront. Each structure accommodates a specific function, such as boat storage, repair bays, locker rooms, and shared lounge areas. The design emphasizes clarity, material honesty, and construction feasibility through concrete bases, pine siding, zinc roofs, and exposed timber frames, all of which maximize daylight and express structure. The project strengthens the bond between the campus and the local community by transforming the lakefront for training, recreation, and social interaction.
