ABOUT THE CREATOR/S:
I'm Carly, a freelance illustrator and printmaker from swampy North Florida. I create work under the name It's Not That Weird where I explore the humor in the human condition, idiosyncrasies in nature, and celebrate stories of folly. I blend nostalgia with playfulness to create a cautiously optimistic undertone and bring my work to life using Riso and silkscreen, creating a tactile, retro feel that is evident through misaligned colors, grainy textures, and restricted color palettes.

WORK/ PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Music is magic! This is a little personal project to celebrate one of life's simplest yet complex joys. A Riso zine printed in-house using red and black vegetable-based inks, Astrobrights cardstock in stardust white, French Paper black end sheets, and saddle stitch binding. It's modestly pocket-sized for an intimate feel. I wanted the viewer to have a euphoric meditative experience, like a bite sized taste of live music.
